We are hiring Advanced Substation Electricians for a 2-month prevailing wage project in Jackson Center, PA. This role requires proven utility substation construction experience, strong protection/control troubleshooting ability, and leadership capability in high-voltage environments.

Pay & Overtime:
Prevailing Wage —Over $70/hour
40 hours standard
Overtime expected
2-month project duration
Key Responsibilities:
Full layout and installation of substation equipment and structural supports
Install grounding grids and bond underground systems to above-ground components
Terminate insulated 34.5kV cable and bare ACSR conductors
Install, wire, and troubleshoot SF6 and RMag breakers, CTs, PTs, transformers, and bus systems
Lead small crews while maintaining utility standards, QA, and safety compliance
Advanced Scope:
Strong troubleshooting of protection and control systems
Familiarity with relay and breaker testing procedures
Understanding of ANSI/NEMA protection designations
Experience working within varied substation and control house configurations
Knowledge of acceptable structural supports for overhead electrical equipment
Technical Requirements:
Experience with NETA testing procedures for substation components
Safe practices for steel static pole assembly
Experience with 69kV overhead switching and utility take-off isolation
Installation and termination of large utility transformers
Knowledge of power metering systems and busway configurations
Certifications / Signals:
OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
NFPA 70E
Journeyman license where applicable
Prior utility experience preferred
