Job Description

Now Hiring: Residential Maintenance Technician (Temp →Perm)
Location: Pittsburgh & Surrounding Areas
Pay: $20/hour (40 hours/week —Temp to Perm)

TradeWorX is a full-time construction & trades employer with steady work, a strong backlog, and overtime opportunities. This position begins as a 720-hour temp assignment with the goal of conversion to a full-time permanent role with the property.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform general residential maintenance across an apartment community
  • Complete unit turn-overs: punch-out, repairs, and ready-for-move-in prep
  • Execute carpentry repairs: trim, doors, frames, patching, cabinetry, hardware
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and building systems
  • Perform light electrical work: switches, outlets, fixtures
  • Handle basic plumbing: faucets, drains, valves, minor leaks
  • Support HVAC tasks (filter changes, basic diagnostic assistance)
  • Complete work orders efficiently with strong communication
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
  • Assist with periodic on-call needs as required by the property
Must-Haves
  • Well-rounded maintenance skill set (carpentry + mechanical required)
  • Experience in residential/apartment maintenance strongly preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision
  • General hand tools + familiarity with standard power tools
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work
  • Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation
  • Strong customer service skills when interacting with residents & staff
